Activities at Rosemoor, 26th Oct. to 3rd Nov.


Have a wicked half term at RHS Garden Rosemoor, with Halloween-inspired activities for your little monsters, 26 October – 3 November 2024.

Enjoy the beautiful autumn colours and discover fascinating plants on a family garden trail, take part in spooky craft activities, decorate your own pumpkin, and enjoy storytelling and a weird and wonderful magic show at the stunning RHS gardens just outside Great Torrington.

Wicked Plants Garden Trail, Saturday 26 October – Sunday 3 November.

Follow the family garden trail and spot the ingredients for a witch’s potion to cast your own magic spell. Learn about beautiful but toxic flowers, insect-munching carnivorous plants, freaky fungi called dead man’s fingers and plants used for spells and potions.

Free, self-guided tour – suitable for all the family.

Halloween Crafts, Monday 28 October – Friday 1 November.

Have a go at a different craft every day, including making magic wands, Halloween lanterns, spider headbands, monsters and monster stress squeezers.?

Free drop-in indoor sessions at 10.30 – 12.30 and 14.00 – 15.45. Suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult).

Pumpkin decorating Monday 28 October – Friday 1 November.

Turn a pumpkin into a wicked plant or a woodland creature and let your imagination run wild!

Bookable indoor sessions at 10.30, 11.00, 11.30, 14.00, 14.30 and 15.00. *£2 per pumpkin, booking essential, suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult).

Witch Hazel Halloween Storytime, Wednesday 30th October.

Witch Hazel has arrived, and she can’t wait to explore the magic of the gardens, but beautiful roses and sweet-smelling shrubs don’t impress her at all! Where are the man-eating fly traps and weeds that smell of rotten egg? Join her for a spine-chilling interactive storytelling session.

Free drop-in indoor shows at 11.00, 12.00, 14.00 and 15.00. Suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult).

Exmoor Zoo Wicked Plants Workshop, Thursday 31st October.

Create your own spooky plant friend to take home, with Exmoor Zoo.

Bookable 30–45 minutes indoor sessions at 11.00, 12.00 and 14.00. £3 per child, booking essential, suitable for ages 7+ (must be accompanied by an adult).

Professor Strange – The Steampunk Magician*, Friday 1 November.

A lively and original 45-minute family magic show performed by the strikingly unique Professor Strange!

Bookable indoor shows at 1100, 12.00 and 14.00. £3 per child,booking essential, suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult).

RHS Rosemoor also run popular ‘Welly Walks’ every month specifically to enable preschool-age children to explore and enjoy the wonderful garden. Each session has a different theme and includes a garden walk, craft or planting activity and a story.

Suitable for children aged 5 years and under, accompanied by an adult over the age of 18, the walks go ahead in all weather.

Booking is essential, tickets are £3 per child and includes a children’s drink and all materials. Normal garden admission charges apply to enter the garden for accompanying adults (members go free). Welly Walks are scheduled to take place on the following dates:??
