Easter fun on Northam Burrows.

Get outdoors this Easter and join in some of the fun being organised on Northam Burrows by our enthusiastic team of Rangers! With a wide range of activities, there is something for all the family to enjoy!

Things kick off on Tuesday 8th April with an ‘Eggtravanganza’ egg-themed trail and quiz at the visitor centre between 2-4pm. Join in with the crafts and make your own birds’ nest card to give to a loved one.

On Thursday 10 April – bring your furry friends to the grass behind the visitor centre for a fun FREE dog show with silly competitions. Will your dog be the prettiest? The best dressed? Do they know a cool trick? Registration is from 1.30pm, Classes between 2pm-4pm.

Tuesday 15th April meet the rangers on the beach near the Westward Ho! slipway at 2pm for a “Rockpool Ramble” and uncover all the strange and wonderful creatures that lurk in the rockpools at low tide.

Thursday 17th April – drop into the visitor centre between 2pm-4pm to try your hand at some craft activities to help give wildlife a boost in your garden or play area. Make a ‘No Mow May’ sign for your garden, get some great ideas for projects and take away plants to grow this spring and summer.

Throughout the holidays you can pick up a leaflet from the visitor centre for a self-guided egg-themed Easter holiday trail around the dunes and wildlife on the burrows. Collect a free map between 10am and 5pm.

No booking is required for any of the organised events, but children must be accompanied by an adult and appropriate clothing and footwear is advised. If you’re like Torridge’s hungry rangers some snacks and drinks may also be a good idea. Meeting places vary, so please check out all the details at https://www.torridge.gov.uk/northamburrows or on Torridge Council’s website and posters on social media.
