Burton Art Gallery – exhibitions.

Exhibition: Woodlands, Wastelands & Waterways – Lucy McLauchlan

May 17- June 27

This exhibition showcases the work of international artist, Lucy McLauchlan. The works on display capture specific moments spent wandering amongst urban woodlands, wastelands and waterways. Emerging from a background in mural painting, Lucy’s work evolves directly through the very physical act of painting and printing outside within the elements and all that entails.

Exhibition: BellHouse – Roop Johnstone.

May 17 – July 12.

Conceived by artist and ceramicist, Roop Johnstone, BellHouse is a playful, interactive sound sculpture originally commissioned for the EUPORIAS General Assembly in 2016. Comprised of 34 ceramic bells situated in an open-sided ‘house’ structure, it uses motion capture and robotic beaters to respond to visual data, translating it into the sounds of the bells.
