Shipping notes No. 179 (February).

Bideford Quay.

No commercial shipping since last issue. Oldenburg returned from her annual drydocking at Sharpness on the 27th Feb .

Appledore.

There has been no news, despite all the promises from Mr Cox, MP, that the yard would be reopened by December 2019. However there have been articles in the Journal and the Gazette reporting that the unions believe ‘no news’ was disturbing, and blaming the government for the lack of progress due to lack of financial guarantees. Let’s hope there is some good news soon.

Yelland Quay.

No commercial shipping since last issue.

  1. Greetings Sacha

Have noted your comments unfortunately I only cover the commerical shipping and although I do go into Bideford fairly often do not know what the Severn Seas has do maybe for the future you can send me an email direct to Hardaker33@btinternet.com detailing the vessel’s activites.

Hi There Just a note to let you know there has been shipping movements at bideford Quay. the survey vessel Severn sea brought in the barge BC6470 into Bideford in january
Bideford registered Severn sea has been working from the port over the last month. she removed damaged weather buoy from mooring in the bay and has been making supply runs to lundy to help out the Oldenburg while in dry dock.
