Bideford .

The new Bideford United Methodist Church opened in High Street. The celebrations included a public luncheon attended by the Mayor and Corporation.


The inhabitants of Littleham were delighted to once more hear the merry peal rung on their church bells. It was discovered that the tenor bell, dating back to the 16th century was badly cracked. Ringers from Buckland Brewer, Abotsham,Parkham and Monkleigh rang peals after the dedication ceremony.


A new Juvenile Tent of Rechabites at Langtree was successfully instituted, nearly 40 members being initiated.
